   Sudden cardiomyopathy is an extremely dangerous disease with rapid progression, mostly caused by viral or bacterial infection after exertion and exposure to cold, resulting in diffuse myocardial damage and severe decline in myocardial contractility, often accompanied by cardiogenic shock and malignant arrhythmia, with a very high risk of sudden death. Early diagnosis, real-time assessment of the condition of the disease, and the implementation of ECMO treatment in severe cases are the key to the treatment of the disease. Over the years, as the “special forces” for the treatment of critically ill patients, ICU of Liaocheng Second People's Hospital has been continuously researching and exploring to provide more accurate treatment and care for patients.

 ECMO, or extracorporeal membrane pulmonary oxygenation, commonly known as artificial heart-lung machine, is a “life-saving weapon” for critically ill patients. At the same time, it has also trained a group of medical and nursing backbones in the Department of Critical Care Medicine to master this technology. The hospital's multidisciplinary ECMO team will help improve the hospital's ability to treat acute and critical illnesses, provide hope for critically ill patients, protect the lives of people in the city and surrounding areas, and benefit more patients.
