Early Lung Cancer Screening Section was planned in 2015, belonging to the earliest group of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment sub-specialty sections in China; the section cooperates with a number of first-class lung cancer medical institutions in China (Shanghai Chest Hospital, Shanghai Lung Hospital, Fudan University Cancer Hospital, Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing 301 Hospital, etc.); it opens the channels of remote consultation for the domestic famous lung nodule imaging experts, the domestic famous oncology medical experts remotely formulate treatment plans, domestic famous ablation experts and thoracic surgery experts assist in minimally invasive surgery; it greatly facilitates patients to spend less money and enjoy domestic first-class diagnosis, plan and treatment of lung nodules and lung cancer locally. By the end of 2021, a total of more than 70,000 cases of low-dose CT screening for early-stage lung cancer have been completed, with a lung cancer detection rate of 1.06% and an imaging diagnosis accuracy rate of >96%; 83% of them are early-stage and early-stage lung cancers, which only require minimally invasive surgery or ablation therapy to achieve a curative effect without the need for other treatments such as follow-up radiotherapy.

    The department is the training base of GE lung cancer low-dose CT screening, and the demonstration base of several artificial intelligence lung nodules of Nudge, Medical Associate, Deep Rui, Digital Kun, and Lianyin; the director of the department, Xie Yaoshang, is known as the pioneer of early lung cancer screening in Chinese primary hospitals.

    Currently, the department is providing the following services: 1) low-dose CT screening for early lung cancer; 2) lung nodule expert outpatient clinic; 3) lung nodule ablation therapy; 4) lung tumour puncture biopsy; 5) multidisciplinary (MDT) outpatient clinic for lung cancer; 6) inviting the top domestic lung nodule imaging experts for remote consultation; 7) inviting the top domestic ablation experts for surgery; 8) inviting the top domestic thoracic surgeons for surgery; 9) inviting the top domestic oncologists for remote consultation; 10) inviting the top domestic oncologists for remote consultation; 11) inviting the top Chinese oncologists for remote consultation. Top oncology experts are invited for remote consultation.
