The Department of Orthopaedics of Liaocheng Second People's Hospital is a key discipline in Liaocheng City. Since its establishment more than 40 years ago, it has developed into a modern orthopaedic department with complete professional directions, including orthopaedic trauma, joint surgery, spinal surgery, and hand and foot microsurgery. The department has a group of clinical medical and nursing teams with high professional quality and strong business ability, including 8 chief physicians, 15 deputy chief physicians, 6 masters, 1 doctor, and more than 20 competent nurses. The outpatient volume is more than 50,000 times/year, the number of discharges is more than 7,000 times/year, and the ratio of third and fourth level surgeries is more than 70%. Our department has a high reputation among patients in northwestern Lu, and the radiation area includes Xiajin, Qinghe, Weixian, Linxi, Guanxian, Gaotang and other counties and cities. It has accumulated rich experience in complex trauma treatment, limb fracture, minimally invasive surgery for pelvic and acetabular fracture, orthopaedic hand and foot surgery, minimally invasive surgery for spinal surgery, hip and knee replacement and revision, and sports medicine, etc., among which percutaneous screw treatment for pelvic fracture, endoscopic lumbar decompression and fixation and fusion technology, surgical treatment for metastatic tumour of the spine, stepwise treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee joint, and carpal arthroscopy technology have reached the national level The number of trauma surgeries is more than 1,000 per year. It has completed more than 1,000 trauma surgeries, 1,200 spine surgeries, 700 joint replacements and 400 sports medicine surgeries annually.    At present, the department has served as a national member for 1 time, a provincial standing member for 3 times, a provincial member for 6 times, a municipal vice-chairman for 3 times, and a municipal member for 6 times. It organises municipal academic activities 1-2 times a year. In order to improve the treatment level of orthopaedic surgeons in the surrounding county hospitals, he has carried out a number of ‘spinal endoscopy training’, ‘joint surgery forum’ and other academic activities.
