The Department of General Surgery was established independently in 1995, sub-specialised into two-gland surgery in 1998, and further sub-specialised into gastrointestinal surgery and hepatobiliary, pancreatic and vascular surgery in 2014. At present, there are 105 open beds and 28 clinicians, including 2 doctors, 20 masters, 4 chief physicians, 5 deputy chief physicians and 12 attending physicians.

   They are mainly engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant tumours of stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, thyroid and breast; surgical treatments for various kinds of extra-abdominal hernias; treatments for abdominal trauma and acute abdominal pain; interventional treatments for peripheral arterial occlusion and aneurysm; treatments for varicose veins of the lower limbs such as rotary incision, radiofrequency, sclerosing agent injection, and ligation of the traffic branch under the lumenscope; and endoscopic treatments for gastrointestinal polyps, adenomas, and early carcinomas.

    She is skilled in laparoscopic minimally invasive technology in all specialties, and is good at laparoscopic radical surgery for gastric and colorectal cancer, laparoscopic thyroid tumour resection, laparoscopic partial hepatectomy, laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy, laparoscopic splenectomy, laparoscopic repair of extra-abdominal hernia, laparoscopic choledochoscopy combined with bile duct stone removal, breast conserving and breast reconstruction surgery for early breast cancer, minimally invasive rotational excision of breast mass with McMurphytong, and laparoscopic male mastopexy for breast development.
