Our hospital successfully hosted the online meeting of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assisted Lung Cancer Screening and Diagnosis and Treatment Integration Academic Forum and the Inaugural Meeting of Artificial Intelligence Lung Cancer Early Screening-Diagnosis and Treatment Center Alliance.

  Applying advanced technology and solving people's livelihood problems, the online meeting of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assisted Lung Cancer Screening and Diagnosis and Treatment Integration Academic Forum and Artificial Intelligence Lung Cancer Early Screening-Diagnosis and Treatment Center Alliance Founding Conference hosted by Liaocheng City No. 2 People's Hospital was successfully held in the afternoon of April 23rd. Prof. Xiao Yi, Vice Chairman and Executive Secretary of China Medical Imaging AI Industry-University-Research and Collaborative Innovation Platform (Alliance) of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, and Mr. Mao Xinsheng, Founder and Chairman of Numarkun Technology, attended the launching ceremony and delivered speeches. There were 3,100 online registered participants from all over the country and more than 5,000 collective studies. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Wang Xinqiang, a member of the Party Committee of our hospital.

According to a latest statistical report of National Cancer Center, lung cancer is one of the malignant tumors with high morbidity and mortality rate in China, with about 781,000 new cases every year. Meanwhile, the five-year survival rate of lung cancer patients in China is only about 16%. The reason for this is that early lung cancer has no obvious symptoms, and most of the patients are already in the advanced stage when they are diagnosed. Therefore, it is imperative to reduce risk factors, discover high-risk groups, and conduct early screening and early diagnosis for high-risk groups. “With the help of and taking advantage of AI's efficient and accurate diagnosis and examination, we can realize the solution to optimize the control of the disease.” Professor Xiao Yi introduced that over the years, Liaocheng City No. 2 Hospital has accelerated the construction of intelligent medical system, promoted the construction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lung Cancer Early Screening Center, and established “Lung Nodule Intelligence (AI) Screening Clinic” and “Multi-disciplinary (MDT) Consultation”, which have better improved the ability and level of primary diagnosis and treatment. The center has established the “Lung Nodule Intelligence (AI) Screening Clinic” and “Multidisciplinary (MDT) Consultation”, which have better improved the diagnosis and treatment ability and level of grassroots. “The AI screening solution for lung nodules based on deep learning algorithms has taken the lead in Liaocheng Second People's Hospital, marking an important step towards the development of a smart hospital in Liaocheng Second People's Hospital.” Mao Xinsheng said in his speech that the use of low-dose CT scanning, borrowing the assistance of artificial intelligence technology, coupled with experienced diagnostic doctors, is a very meaningful attempt and innovation for the early screening of lung cancer, which improves the level of the intelligent healthcare service system to a certain extent, and brings the gospel to the general public in Liaocheng City. After the establishment ceremony of the alliance, our hospital organized the AI-assisted Lung Cancer Screening and Diagnosis and Treatment Integration Academic Forum. At the academic meeting, Xie Yaoshine, Director of Lung Cancer Screening Department of Liaocheng City Second People's Hospital, Sun Xiwen, Professor of Imaging Department of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Yu Dexin, Professor of Imaging Department of Shandong University Qilu Hospital, Niu Hongxin, Professor of Tumor Intervention Center of Shandong Cancer Hospital, and Lin Ling, Associate Professor of Thoracic Surgery of Shanghai Thoracic Hospital, presented the following topics respectively: “AI-assisted Lung Cancer Screening and the Construction of Lung Nodule Outpatient Clinic”, “The Game between Artificial Intelligence and Traditional Diagnostics”, and “AI Screening for Cardiothoracic Diseases”. Application and Value of AI Screening for Cardiothoracic Diseases”, ‘Ablation Treatment for Lung Nodules’, and ‘Precision Segmental Surgical Treatment for Lung Cancer’. The academic forum was presided over by Cheng Siqiang, director of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery Department of our hospital, and Sheng Huaqiang, director of Imaging Department of Shandong Qianfoshan Hospital.



    Finally, Mr. Wang Xinqiang, a member of the Party Committee, summarized the conference and the outlook of the alliance. He proposed that the establishment of the alliance is to build a one-stop platform for everyone in the work of lung cancer screening, and to drive the construction and development of grassroots hospitals; the addition of artificial intelligence will add flowers to our work and help the development of intelligent medical care. We are looking forward to the platform jointly built by Numarkun Technology and us, under the guidance of domestic famous experts, to further promote the orderly development of lung screening work in grassroots hospitals across the country, and truly use technology and artificial intelligence to benefit the people, enhance medical services and promote medical development.
