The First Ward of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Liaocheng Second People's Hospital has 40 open beds and is one of the key specialties in Liaocheng. There are 10 physicians in the department, including 2 chief physicians (including 1 retired expert), 1 postgraduate tutor, 2 attending physicians, 6 residents; 2 clinicians with master's degree; 22 nursing staff.

     Obstetrics Ward I is in the forefront of Liaocheng City Hospital in terms of diagnosis and treatment level, scientific research and teaching, rescue of critical illnesses and talent construction, etc. It specializes in diagnosis and treatment of gestational diabetes mellitus, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, placenta previa, placenta previa, pregnancy combined with other digestive, respiratory, circulatory diseases, endocrine diseases and postpartum hemorrhage and other complications and comorbidities in childbirth and pregnancy. In recent years, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has made breakthroughs in the level of difficult and serious obstetrics technology, especially in the rescue of critical illnesses, such as heavy preeclampsia, critical placental abruption, dangerous implantation placenta previa, etc., which is in a leading position in Linqing and the surrounding areas, so that some patients with critical illnesses are often referred to the Department from the township hospitals or the People's Hospital of Linqing City, and are given timely and correct rescue treatment, which significantly improves the quality of maternal and maternal health. This has significantly improved the outcome and prognosis of pregnant women and perinatal babies, and brought good social benefits to our hospital. After years of construction and development, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has formed a well-trained and skilled medical backbone team, and created a group of obstetrics specialists who enjoy high reputation and influence in Linqing City and neighboring areas. Through the efforts and struggles of several generations, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has strong technical force and its overall strength ranks among the advanced ones in Liaocheng area. The annual outpatient volume of the department is as high as 10,000, and it admits and treats more than 2,500 patients of all kinds and performs more than 1,000 surgeries annually.

     In recent years, our department has carried out a series of new technologies and projects, such as labor analgesia, guided labor, family accompanied labor, postpartum rehabilitation, application of midwifery delivery ball, application of B_Lynch uterine suture in cesarean section, modified Cho suture (patch suture) for postpartum hemorrhage, etc., which have all achieved good clinical results. At present, our department has established long-term cooperation and support relationship with many township hospitals such as Linqing City People's Hospital, Linqing City People's Hospital, Gaotang County People's Hospital, Guanxian Liangtang Sanitary Hospital, Linqing Jinhaozhuang Central Sanitary Hospital, Tangyuan Central Sanitary Hospital, Songlin Central Sanitary Hospital, and Bacholu Township Sanitary Hospital, etc., and regularly conducts academic exchanges and talent cultivation. Regional-level continuing education classes and academic seminars are held 2 to 3 times a year. As an internship and trainee teaching base of Taishan Medical College and Binzhou Medical College, the department teaches more than 100 trainee and internship students every year, trains 2 to 3 doctors from neighboring areas, publishes more than 20 papers, and undertakes 4 scientific research projects at all levels. It has been awarded the honorary title of advanced department at the hospital level for many times.
