Overview of the department

The Department of Cardiac Ultrasound was first established in 2002, after more than ten years of unremitting efforts and construction of the department staff, it is second to none in cardiac ultrasound diagnosis in Hebei, Luyu and Henan regions, and its medical treatment, teaching and scientific research are distributed in Liaocheng City Second People's Hospital's headquarter hospital and Huamei hospital area. The Department of Cardiac Ultrasound has a skilled and united team of 10 physicians, including 1 deputy chief physician, 2 attending physicians and 7 residents.

   The cardiac ultrasound department of Liaocheng City Second People's Hospital is equipped with advanced equipment, exquisite technology and perfect supporting facilities, and has the world's most advanced professional cardiac ultrasound instrument. The cardiac ultrasound department of the main department of Liaocheng Second People's Hospital has three outpatient examination cardiac colour ultrasound machines: HP SONO5500, Philips iE Elite, Siemens SC2000 and a bedside portable machine Yum Yum Glamour 30. The cardiac ultrasound department of Huamei Hospital District has one outpatient examination cardiac colour ultrasound machine GE VIVD E9 and one bedside portable examiner GE V6 series.

   The department has rich experience in ultrasound diagnosis of common cardiovascular diseases and multiple diseases, and at the same time undertakes the consultation work of difficult and critical cases in the neighbouring areas and grassroots hospitals. The department carries out routine cardiac ultrasound, bedside ultrasound for critically ill patients, ultrasound-guided interventional intervention for precordial heart disease, intraoperative ultrasound monitoring for cardiac disease, fetal cardiac ultrasound, transesophageal cardiac ultrasound and ultrasound-guided pericardiocentesis and other diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, with an average of 40,000 examinations per year. The department also undertakes cardiac examinations in the Health Screening Unit.

   With the establishment and full use of PACS system, all echocardiography reports and imaging data can be accessed at any time in both hospitals, and imaging images can be used for remote consultation.
